How to Find Us

Alan Oliver Work Boats was established in 1972 to carry cargo from the Humber ports.

From 1977 onwards we have been primarily involved with civil engineering projects on and around water although we do still occasionally carry cargo.

Although we are based at Doncaster we have been involved in projects all around the UK.

These projects include "non-navigable" rivers, reservoirs and even lakes in the grounds of stately homes.

The "navigable" waterways we have worked on range from the "narrow" canals of the Midlands, to the river Humber and the Firth of Forth in Scotland.

We hire out boats with operators on a daily rate basis or we undertake sub-contract or main contract work.

The fleet consists of four crane boats, four workboats, three tugs, one spud leg pontoon, two roll on pontoons, three narrow pontoons, catamaran pontoon, three large dumboats, five category C/D safety boats.

The size of this boat makes it posible for it to work on many of the smaller waterways. The Hiab can lift up to 3 tonnes. The hydraulic grab can be used for low volume spot dredging and moving mass concrete.
